It's hard to believe it has taken over two years to get the water levels at Lake Lanier back to near normal conditions. I remember seeing many docks on land baking in the hot clay on the lake bottom. And now, just when things seem to be where we want a federal judge recently ruled that Atlanta has been taking water from Lake Lanier illegally.
If Georgia, Florida and Alabama cannot come to an agreement on water-sharing from Lanier then Lake Lanier residents could be in store for more of the same drought conditions. Why, you ask? Because congress could approve a water reallocation which could leave the lake at some mighty low levels.
